Casey Goryeb is the Pre-K through 5th Grade Music Teacher and Director of Choral Music at both Catherine A. Dwyer and Dennis B. O’Brien Elementary Schools in Rockaway Township, NJ. She attended Lebanon Valley College where she received a B.S. in Music Education and B.A. in Music (Flute Performance). Casey then earned a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership Instruction from The College of New Jersey. She received her Orff Schulwerk Certification and completed an Orff Curriculum Course through The University of the Arts, and a Master Class in Orff Schulwerk through George Mason University. An active member of her local chapter, Casey is the President of the Northern New Jersey Orff Schulwerk Association (NNJOSA). She is also a theater nerd and directs the musicals at her district’s Middle School. Casey currently resides in Hackettstown NJ with her husband, Aaron, and their rescue dog, Bear.
David Row loves teaching music to kids! A Nebraska native and Midwesterner at heart, David now lives and teaches in the Kansas City metro area for the DeSoto Unified School District. He holds a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City Conservatory, completed three levels and a master course in Orff Schulwerk training, and has extensive experience with critical thinking in the arts. David is an active clinician and has presented workshops at national, state, and local conventions across the United States and Canada. He is an AOSA-approved Orff Schulwerk teacher educator and is excited to be joining the OCPS & Central Florida Orff Chapter for Levels this summer in Orlando. On his blog, MakeMomentsMatter.org, David shares ideas about classroom content, management, lesson plans, critical thinking, and more. Natasha Thurmon teaches K-5 general music, choir, strings, Recorder, and Orff ensemble at Boldt Elementary in the Northside Independent School District in San Antonio, TX. She has a BME in Music Education from Pacific Lutheran University and an MM in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She completed her Orff levels and two master classes at Trinity University, where she now teaches Recorder. Natasha is past president of Central Texas Orff, and has served on several subcommittees for AOSA, chairing the Social Media subcommittee, and most currently on the Recorder Teacher Apprenticeship Panel. She has presented at various workshops locally and at state conferences, as well as at the national AOSA conference and for Orff chapter workshops. She serves as co-site chair on the Professional Development committee of her local Northside AFT union and on their Executive Board as Elementary Vice President.
